Planning Ahead

Planning-1Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Matthew 6:33-34, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

James 4:13-15,  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15  For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

“If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.”Planning-3

While there is definitely wisdom in planning ahead, and as we approach the New Year-like many of you, I will be doing quite a bit of personal planning for my life and my ministry-there is also a great danger of trusting our plans rather than trusting our God, and allowing our plans to keep us from seeking His purpose.

Holy SpiritThe Spirit of God is in the business of guiding the steps and directing the paths of those who are surrendered, submitted, and sensitive to His leading. So as we approach the New Year and are working on goals, plans, calendars, and schedules let’s be sure to let the Holy Spirit do the leading.

Don’t get stuck in your plans, seek His purpose!

Just reflecting in the midst of my planning! 🙂
