“And it came to pass as he (Jesus) blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up to heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And they were CONTINUALLY in the temple, praising and blessing God” (Luke 24:51-52).
“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of his benefits.” (Psalm 103:1-2)
Over the past few days I have been teaching much on “The Prayer of Jabez” (1 Chronicles 4:10) and his request for God to bless him. Last night, it was a joy to close my four days with Pastor Kampai’s church with a message on being thankful from (Luke 17:11-19). It is so easy for us to forget all of God’s goodness, all of his blessings, and all of the benefits that have been afforded to us in Christ. SO EASY!
The response of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, after being “blessed” by Jesus, was to CONTINUALLY to be in God’s presence (the temple), worship, rejoice, praise, and bless God in return. Quit looking at what you don’t have, and take time to ponder what you do have.
Has God “blessed” you?
- Has he blessed you with salvation and a changed life?
- Has he blessed you with a copy of his word in your language?
- Has he blessed you with a good church?
- Has he blessed you with good and godly family and friends?
- Has he blessed you with good health, a roof over your head, food on your table, clothes on your back?
If so, how are you responding? How are you responding to the innumerable blessings and benefits of God on, and in your life? Hopefully, with a grateful heart!!!
Just reflecting on God’s goodness!
