Psalm 133:1-3, Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
This Election Season has been enough to make any God-fearing, Christ-loving, flag waving, patriotic person weep a bucketful of tears. If you haven’t you wept at least a little, you might want to check your spiritual pulse. The two candidates that are representing the two major parties are the least popular in the history of our nation, and in my opinion, the least qualified, but even worse than this, they are the most corrupt individuals to run for the most powerful office in the world!
Most of the world is watching and, sad to say, laughing at us during this Election Season!
Another sad factor in this election is how so many have, for pragmatic reasons, just swept under the rug the vast character flaws of both candidates. There was a day when we said such things as, “Morality Matters,” “Character Counts,” “Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership,” “Vote Your Conscience,” and “It’s Never Right to Do Wrong to Do Right,” and we said them with conviction!
It appears that those days are long gone!
What might very well be the saddest aspect of this Election Season (actually more of a carnival than an Election Season] is how brothers and sisters in Christ, washed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, sealed by the Holy Spirit of God, and names written down in heaven, are now demeaning, degrading, and demonizing one another because of how, or who, they are voting for on November 8th.
This is a crying shame!!!
Is it any wonder that we don’t have revival in America?
Regrettably, a lost and dying world in which we are to be a testimony of God’s grace is watching, not only the circus we call the Election Season, but the “Christian Circus” as we sling mud at one another concerning our political views, not to mention our willingness to sweep “stuff” under the rug.
Our greatest need in America is not a Republican in the White House. Our greatest need is not a Democrat in the White House. Our greatest need is not a Third-Part Candidate in the White House. Folks, our greatest need is a revival in God’s house and that’s not going to ever take place if we are slinging mud at one another over anything, let alone over this years candidates.
I know good and godly men, who love Jesus Christ, who believe the Bible from cover-to-cover, and have a passion to reach the lost for Christ, who are voting for Donal Trump. I totally understand their reasoning. The lesser of two evils argument. I get it! I also know good and godly men who cannot, for consciences sake, do so. I totally understand the reasoning there also. Both of these groups will use scripture and history to justify their stands. I get it!
Let’s put the stones down, humble ourselves, and start praying for our country!!!
2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Just reflecting on these very sad days in which we live!!!
