“Now the Lord said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee. … So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him …” (Genesis 12:1, 3).
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive an inheritance … obeyed, and he went out, not knowing whither he went” (Hebrews 11:8).
When the Spirit of God lays it upon a man or women’s heart to leave father, family, friends, financial security, future ambitions, and all that is familiar to him or her, in order to fulfill God’s purpose, that individual may not know where they are going, but they can know Who they are following, and they can rest assured they are making a trail for others to follow!
It has rightly been said that maps are very helpful, unfortunately, God has a tendency to lead us where there are no roads. If this is true, and it definitely is, and if we sincerely desire to fulfill God’s purpose for our life, we must become more fearful of missing the Person of Christ and the purpose of Christ than we are of the unknown and uncertain!!!
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
