“For the fruit of the Spirit is in all GOODNESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUTH” (Ephesians 5:9).
The New Testament scriptures are filled with passages that remind us of the importance of being filled with, led by, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Along the same lines, we find many passages that remind us of the importance of allowing the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Christlikeness) flow freely from our hearts, lives, and ministries.
In the passage above, we find three virtues that should come with a Spirit-filled life. There are many more of course, but these three caught my attention this morning.
Like a colorful basket of fruit looks appealing and attracts many of even most casual of those passing by, a Spirit-filled life that exhibits GOODNESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and TRUTH will grab the attention of many of those around us.
God help us not to leave any one of these three out. Truth is, if we are walking with Him and filled with the Holy Spirit, we won’t!
Galatians 5:22-26, 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
