Passion for His Pre-eminence

preeminence-1“… all things were created by Him, and for Him. And He is before all things … And He (Jesus) is the head of His body, the church … that in ALL THINGS He might have the PREEMINENCE” (Colossians 1:16-18).

“If ye then be risen with Christ, SEEK THOSE THINGS which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. SET YOUR AFFECTION ON THINGS ABOVE, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:1-2).

One cannot read the the Book of Acts or the writings of Paul without coming to the conclusion that Paul was a passionate man. He was passionate about Christ and the cause of Christ in his world and in his day. Christ, and Christ alone was the Pre-eminent One in Paul’s life. His desire was to know Him, love Him, embrace Him, serve Him, and, of course, obey Him!

Paul’s life was transformed not by a RELIGION CALLED CHRISTIANITY, but by A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST! Nothing will affect and alter the DESIRES of our hearts, the DECISIONS that we make, and the DIRECTION that we take, as much as making sure Jesus is not simply a A PROMINENT ONE in our lives and ministries, but THE PREEMINENT ONE. And there is a huge difference between the two!

Paul also understood the importance of SEEKING CHRIST and things above and setting our attention and affection on things above. Our testimony is not simply something that we DECLARE WITH OUR LIPS, but rather something that we DEMONSTRATE WITH OUR LIVES. It’s good to keep in mind that people are WATCHING US far more than they are LISTENING TO US!

What we are SEEKING AFTER IN LIFE and where we SET OUR AFFECTIONS speak far more affectionsloudly and clearly that what we say!

Just Reflecting!!!
