“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He (Jesus) went out, and departed into a solitary place, and prayed … Jesus withdrew Himself with His disciples …” (MK 1:35 & 3:7).
The passages above are great reminders for all of us. There are times when we just need to get alone and get away. We need to get alone and get away from the hustle and bustle of life, to meditate on God’s Word, reflect on God’s goodness, and to pray for God’s power and presence. And occasionally, we need to do this with our fellow-laborers.
The truth is, if we don’t make it a regular habit of getting apart, getting away, and getting alone, we will eventually find ourselves falling apart!!!
Isaiah 40:29-31, He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
“The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.”
