O Lord, Rekindle the Fire

Rekindle“And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures?” (LK 24:32).

The disciples on the Road to Emmaus were disappointed, discouraged, and more than likely, their hearts were slowly becoming cold and calloused because of the disappointment of their Lord being crucified.

Yet, everything changed once Jesus showed up and began speaking to them!

Life is often filled with disappointments, discouragements, and unwanted detours. At times, the path we are walking seems very dark and lonely. During these times, there’s nothing more important than knowing you are walking on the right path, that you have Jesus walking and talking with you all along the way, and His words are rekindling the fire in your heart.

Has disappointment and discouragement come your way? Has there been an unwanted detour in recent days? Is your heart becoming cold and calloused? If so, I have some really good news for you. Jesus wants to walk alongside of you. He wants to speak to you. And, He wants to rekindle the fire that once burned in your heart for Christ and the cause of Christ.

Rekindle 2O Lord, walk with us and speak to our hearts. Speak words of comfort, as well as conviction. Rekindle the fire in our hearts. Help our hearts yearn and burn with passion for you!

Just reflecting!
