Judging Others and Casting Stones

JudgmentFor the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God …” (1 Peter 4:17).

Judging others is always so much easier than judging ourselves. It doesn’t hurt as much.

At least it doesn’t hurt us as much!

Yet, God is far more concerned with us judging ourselves than He is with us judging others. And he wants us to have the same concern[MATT 7:1-5]!

“He that is without sin, among you, let him cast the first stone” (JN 8:7).

Before “casting stones” of comparison, criticism, and condemnation at a lost and dying world, as well as at other Christians, and other churches, it’s always best to check ourselves in the mirror of God’s Word first, and allow it to judge our attitudes, actions, and even our motives (HEB 4:12). What we find, if we are truly honest, may not be a pretty picture, but it will be helpful!

“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. CLEANSE YOUR HANDS, and PURIFY YOUR HEARTS, ye double-minded” (JS 4:8).

The word YOUR above is significant to say the least!

“A pharisee is hard on others and easy on himself, but a spiritual man is easy on others, and hard on himself.” -A. W. Tower

I don’t know about you, but I long to be a spiritual man!

Just reflecting!!!

  1. Thank you! As a matter of fact, I head back to the States tomorrow. I had a minor stroke a few days ago and will probably need surgery. Apparently, they don’t trust the surgeons here! 🙂
